Trip to York, PA

As we're wrapping up towards the end of the trip, we've filmed every state as we crossed the state line. We started thinking of the best rides, best hotels, best times, etc. Once we hit Indianapolis, we felt like we were back east. People talked, drove and acted like they were east coast. Cleveland was the same. We started out today a little later and took a very slow, but steady ride to York, PA. The Marriott Cleveland East was one of the nicest hotels on the trip. Once we got into PA, the weather started getting hotter and hotter. At first we were threatened with thunderstorms all over with alerts of hail and tornados. Fortunately we didn't see any precipitation on this ride. At Irwin, PA, we left the PA Turpike and headed down US 30 the rest of the way. We stopped at the Flight 93 Memorial 9/11 in Shanksville, PA. Saw the crash site and the wall of names. Very sad. We paid our respects and honored them as well. Went through Gettysburg which was also very nice. Diane was so in awe of the sites from the road, she forgot to take out the camera. She did catch up a bit after I reminded her.
Stopped at the Battlefield Harley dealer. Harley dealers are probably the cleanest, friendliest and coolest (cold temp) places to visit on the ride.

Made it to York. Tomorrow we hope to tour the Harley factory in York. I've been there twice, but Diane hasn't been there. This is where my baby came from, so what would be more appropriate than to finish the big ride with a tour of her birthplace. After that, we hope to take US 30 again through the Amish country of Lancaster County. Once we get through New Holland area, we may jump on the PA Turnpike again to get home. We're definitely east coast now. All drivers now are in a big hurry and multitasking while driving. We did notice a commonality of many drivers. They are either texting, talking, smoking, eating, drinking, putting on make-up/shaving or a combination. We even saw a guy today driving his pickup down the Ohio Turnpike with his hands behind his head. Scary stuff.
