Trip to Beverly Hills

Today was our shortest ride only taking a little over 3 hours and just under 200 miles. We started out from Palm Springs/La Quinta at around 8 a.m. and already it seemed like an inferno. Fortunately it cooled off quite a bit on the ride in. Took I-10 West the entire time. Nothing nicer than riding up to the Valet of the Beverly Hills Hilton with a Harley. They were all nice and even offered to have the bike stay on the valet circle in front of the hotel but we decided to take it to the garage instead. Mainly because we saw all of the highly pretentious people pulling up recklessly in their overpriced sports cars. Yes we saw Bentley convertibles, Ferraris, Lotus, Maseratis, etc. The beautiful people are here and everyone thinks they're movie stars. We walked around Santa Monica Blvd and Rodeo Drive along with the other tourists. Were there any famous people there? I don't know. I'm not good at recognizing famous people. We did go to Whole Foods and there looked to be some familiar faces there. We saw a limo parked outside. Never saw that before. What a great store. Probably the most famous, profitable and largest Whole Foods in the country. They have indoor parking and a special pick up area for your groceries. Lots of assistance and people help to load your car (or limo). The weather here is perfect. Probably around 80 with only clear sunny skies and very pleasant humidity. Our room has a balcony overlooking the pool area where I can fire up a stogie later. I'm writing this from Trader Vic's at the Hilton while enjoying their Mai Tai signature drink. Ready for another. We walk to DaPasquale Trattoria later for dinner. Free is good. We're doing pretty well on this trip.
