Great ride to West Yellowstone, Montana

Today was a great ride from Twin Falls, Idaho to West Yellowstone, Montana. Based on the folks we met yesterday at the bar, we were going to take the long ride to Lava Hot Springs and then up the trail to Victor before we head over to Teton. That changed once we arrived at Snake River Canyon. We met up with some really nice locals who were jogging the canyon trail. One even stopped to take our picture.  She also recommended we stop at Jackson Hole before entering the park. We asked "what so special about Jackson Hole?" and her only response was that everybody goes there. Well, we knew we had to go there too so I changed the GPS to go to Teton Village which was in Jackson Hole. Then another lady jogged over and saw that we were from New Jersey and started making recommendations. She felt we should see Shoshone Falls before we leave. She and her husband were even willing to have us follow them over there. We told them we would program it into the GPS as well. The people in Twin Falls were really friendly. We did go over there and a video is attached for that.
We got to Jackson Hole and stopped at the Fireside Bar which was part of an Alpine Lodge Resort. It was so funny that the barmaids knew we were from New Jersey once we asked for "water". I guess we say it funny or different from everyone else. They were also from the east and settled in the area based on their love for skiing.
It was then on to the Teton mountain range where we had one of the best rides ever. Beautiful scenery along the Snake River. We stopped to see bison, elk and even took a picture of our passing through the Continental Divide. We did stop at Old Faithful, but she was just blowing off steam. So we decided to go back tomorrow to check it out. We made it from Idaho to Wyoming to Montana today and logged 393 miles.
We got into town a bit late today and checked into the Holiday Inn West Yellowstone. Coming through town looked much like the wild west. Very old saloon looking places. Of course, its all touristy now with many places just selling souvenirs. Sun sets today around 9:15 out here. There's even an IMAX theater in town. We settled on the Wild West Pizzeria and Saloon for dinner and drinks. We met up with Dave who's a carpenter who lives at Old Faithful full time. He was drinking some very local beer along with bourbon shots and gave us some advice on the area. When I asked for the drink specials, the bartender said that Heineken Lites were only $2 each which is Diane's favorite beer. Fortunate for us since they couldn't give them away there. They ended up giving them away to us, though. An extra 2 Heineken lites to go for free. What a great town!! I'm hoping we can go back some day. Scratch Yellowstone off my bucket list for now.
